Piazza Viva - Between Thought and Emotion
On 4 March 1943 Lucio Dalla was born in Bologna and the following day Lucio Battisti was born in Poggio Bustone in the province of Rieti. They are 80 years old this year.
Two of the most recognised artists of Italian pop music, who lived two different musical experiences:
- Battisti was all about music, melodies and harmonies, almost as if the lyrics were a complement to the music;
- Dalla a singer-songwriter, sometimes ironic, sometimes pessimistic, who loves to bring personal or community life situations to music.
Two faces of pop music, both fascinating for the path they represent, even if different in their assumptions and reasons for being. Both are united by their passion for music as a means of communicating their being, their thoughts and feelings, and of relating to their listeners.
The performance fits into this context by proposing a musical dialogue between these two voices accompanied by videos, interviews and short monologues on the way of living the human experience and on the relationship between music and life.
Piazza Viva is a musical company that offers thematic performances using national and international pop and rock music, monologues taken from contemporary literature
contemporary literature, videos, testimonies and lighting effects, to create events that combine emotion and thought.
It is an experience that intends to promote the cultural animation of the territory, believing that music and theatre are important tools to encourage reflection and the growth of individuals and communities, in the logic of pedagogical art, on the one hand, and social cohesion for those who are active players, on the other.
